Day 15 – Educate Me
Are you smarter than a 5th grader? What kind of student are you? What was your favorite subject in school?
Everyone has a philosophy about learning and education – what’s yours? Did you inherit that thinking or did you break the chains of tradition?
My dad was one of the smartest people I know. Always reading and learning until the day he died. But, he couldn’t stand formal learning and never made it through college – had no tolerance for the hoop-jumping. Did that attitude pass along to his children? Take a guess, only 2 of the 7 children attended college.
Today’s challenge is to take a look at your beliefs about education. Where did they come from and are they ones that you want to pass on to the next generation?
What would you have rather studied or are you satisfied with your choice? Where did you wish you had gone to school? Do you really wish you had studied harder?
Education is a privilege – what do you want to record for you posterity that will make them smarter about their choices in gaining a better education?
What is the smartest thing you did regarding your education? What was the dumbest?
