|CAFG Forensic Institute 2013|
The Council for the Advancement of Forensic Genealogy (CAFG) Forensic Institute was attended by attorneys, genealogist and even a Forensic Document Examiner. All of them came away satisfied that their time and effort in attending the institute had been well spent.
I attended SLIG Forensic Genealogy course in January, if I had to choose between the two, it would be no contest. CAFG Forensic Genealogy course is full of hands-on real world advice and instruction, by people who have the skills, experience and expertise to back it up.
Our 3rd and final day we covered Legal and Ethical Implications of Adoption by Michael Ramage, whose personal experience with the topic made it even more interesting.
The unsinkable Dee Dee King presented both the Work Products and Client Documents, and Preparation, Business Structure, Due Diligence classes. Dee Dee is always straight shooting and practical, 2 things I love in anyone – but on her it just makes you love her even more.
There was a panel discussion on How to Identify Potential Markets and Clients, Examples of Successful Marketing Efforts, which was followed by receiving our certificates for having finished the course.
CAFG is planning another institute, the end of March 2014. They are discussing having a repeat of this course from Mon-Wed and an Advanced Course for those who have completed the first course from Thur. -Sat. and yes, it will be possible to attend them all if this would be your first time attending. Book mark their website to keep up with the latest news and details here.
CAFG also has a mentor program for those who would like to have join them. I am joining CAFG because them have shown that they are serious professionals, highly qualified and believe in promoting the field of Forensic Genealogy – besides, these are people who I would gladly be associated with!
Bottom line, CAFG Forensic Institute – 2 Thumbs Up!
